In a small community like Longview, the more people who contribute to the village social life, the richer the village will be.
The church isn’t a social club; we have a different purpose than that. On the other hand, it is important to us that we play an active part in making the village a better place, and this page describes some of the ways in which are doing that.
Some of our members attend church in Longview, but live elsewhere. Even those members feel a responsibility to contribute (as an example the village calendar was produced entirely by such an “import”) and the congregation as a whole strongly supports Pastor Gil and Andrea in all their community involvement.
Longview & Area Seniors’ Club
We were active in the initial organization and ongoing running of the club, which serves seniors from as far away as Calgary.
Little New York Daze support
Longview Bible Fellowship has a long tradition of supporting the Little New York Daze activities. This photo shows our entry into the 2014 parade.
We have partnered with the Korean Presbyterian church church in Calgary to reach out to Eden Valley. With our support they are initiating church services and small group Bible studies with both adults and children in the community.
Meals on Wheels
We have brought Meals on Wheels service to Longview and area. The meals are prepared in Calgary and brought to Longview by volunteers.
50th Anniversary Longview Calendar
We photographed, designed and printed 500 copies of the calendar, which was widely distributed in the area.
The church library has over 1,000 books, both fiction and non-fiction. It contains many titles that likely won’t be found in the village library, and is open to all Longview residents.
